If you ask me, the name “Matthew” has gotten way too popular since the Bible came out.
On the bright side, about once a week I meet a guy who goes, “Nice to meet you, Matt. I am also Matt!” It’s fun.
I’ve met Matts all over. I’ve lived in Baltimore, Eureka, Ronkonkoma, Stony Brook, Ganado, Somerville, Portland, Berkeley, Brooklyn, and Los Angeles so far.
Only one of those places was not on a coast: Ganado (population 900), on the Navajo Reservation in Arizona. I lived there for four years as a kid, during which time I became proficient in herding livestock and saying “butt” in Navajo.
I’ve run five or six half marathons, and with each one, my desire to run a full marathon has diminished. No shame there.
Apart from that, I’m a nerd about food, comedy, dogs, and hip-hop.
My all-time favorites, respectively, are salami, Todd Barry, any doodle, and Biggie.
How rude... I’ve done nothing but talk about me during this About Me. Tell me, how are YOU?
